Dots is fast. DiscoFi is fast with a bank behind it.

Dots and DiscoFi want the same thing: money that arrives the moment it is earned. Both use RTP and FedNow. The difference is what sits underneath, and who you call when a regulator asks.

Where Dots is stronger

Coverage. 190+ countries and 300+ rails, including wallets and mobile money. A $19 a month entry tier you can sign up for tonight. Instant payouts with no surcharge. If you are paying a global gig workforce, Dots has more doors than we do.

Where the two diverge

The ground you stand on
Dots describes itself as a fintech, not a bank, with banking services from unnamed partners. DiscoFi operates under FinWise Bank’s sponsor charter, with the bank as system of record and transaction monitoring built to the bank’s standard. For a sports team, a league, a label, or an athletic department, the name of the bank is not a footnote.
Depth over breadth
Dots is horizontal. DiscoFi is built for three industries and carries the workflow those industries share: splits, prize pools, royalty schedules, appearance fees, and 1099s at $3.00 a form.
Price shape, and where Dots wins
Dots Scale is $999 a month plus $1 per domestic payout and $3.50 per 1099. DiscoFi is $888 a month plus 28 basis points, instant included, and $3.00 per 1099. On a $1,000 average payout that is $2.80 against $1.00 per transaction, so Dots wins on pure per-payout cost at that size. Below roughly $360 an average payout the arithmetic turns the other way.

Dots figures reflect what they publish as of September 2026, and are marked where they rest on third-party reporting. DiscoFi settles on instant rails in 60 seconds or less.* See Instant Pay disclosure

Who should pick which

Pick Dots if you need the whole world and are comfortable with a fintech in front of an unnamed bank. Pick DiscoFi if you are in sports, music, or entertainment, pay in the US, and want the bank in the room.
